Application Integrator
The Application Integrator enables you to create custom job types. You can then define and monitor the jobs in the Planning and Monitoring domains.
Before you start creating job types, do the following:
-
Install the Application Integrator, as described in Plug-ins.
-
(Optional) Configure the Application Integrator as described in Application Integrator Configuration.
The Application Integrator development process requires you to do the following:
-
Create a job type through one of the methods described in Job Type Management.
-
Define job execution steps, such as a command line, web service or REST API, as described in Job Type Definition. You can also design job properties and Connection Profiles, and view Runtime parameters, as described in Job Type Designer.
-
Deploy the job type to one or more Agents, as described in Job Type Deployment.
After running a job, you can view the detailed log of job execution in the Monitoring domain, as described in Execution Log. To view a typical job type workflow, see Job Type Workflow.
The Application Integrator combines new job types with other jobs into a single scheduling environment, which enables you to control and operate the job types within Control-M and allows you to do the following:
-
Define and monitor the application jobs in Control-M.
-
Integrate these jobs with other Control-M jobs into a single scheduling environment.
-
Equip the new job types with all Control-M capabilities, including advanced scheduling criteria, complex dependencies, resource pools and lock resources, and variables.
For best practices and examples, see Control-M Application Hub.
